We met in the Fall of 1991, in the dorms at the University of Florida. Eric lived on the first floor of East/Weaver Hall, Raya lived on the second. We became fast friends, bonding over Beatles albums, lunches at "The Pit," Five Star Pizza, and bowling at the Reitz Union. By September of the next year, we were deeply in love.

Raya finished her bachelor's degree at UF, we took a trip to the Bahamas, got a cat, went to the 1996 Olympics, moved to Philadelphia, spent two years in the city of Brotherly Love (yeah right!), Eric learned what it means to be a "sysadmin" while working fulltime at a Philly architecture firm, Raya got her master's degree at Gratz College, she accepted a position at the Levite JCC here in Birmingham, Eric enrolled in the Civil Engineering program at UAB, and that's where we are today! Phew! What a long, strange trip it's been...we're still very much in love, and looking forward to many more years of adventures together!
